The Malthouse, The King’s School, Canterbury
Completion: 2019
Location: Canterbury, Kent
Tim Ronalds Architects’ conversion of a Victorian Maltings has given a semi-derelict building a new lease of life, and provided The King’s School with a unique theatre and extensive drama and dance facilities. The strategy was to make only the alterations that were essential, in order to preserve the inherent dramatic character and atmosphere, and make The Malthouse a place for creativity and experiment. King’s is delighted with The Malthouse, which has already inspired fantastic theatre productions, and increased dance uptake.
