Circus Space, The National Centre for Circus Arts
Completion: 2007
Location: London
Circus Space, now The National Centre for Circus Arts, is the UK’s premier circus training school, offering degree level courses to students from all over the world. It occupies what was a Victorian power station in Hoxton, East London. Tim Ronalds Architects was responsible for the third phase of its development. We completed the Combustion Chamber, a spectacular trapeze and performance studio, and two new studio buildings to complete the complex. One contains a Creation Studio, where performers develop new work, and start-up workspaces for associated companies. The other provides an acrobatic studio, rehearsal and foyer spaces which connect the whole.
